Why I Was Skeptical About Oversized Gym Wear at the Start

My first reaction to oversized gymwear was simple: too much fabric. I had spent years wearing fitted training tees where the sleeves stayed close to the arms and the hem followed the waist. Switching to a loose silhouette felt more like borrowing a streetwear tee than choosing something for a serious workout.

The switch happened during a hot spell in Pune when my usual fitted shirts started feeling restrictive around the chest and shoulders. I wanted more room without moving completely into sleeveless training gear. The first thing I noticed about the new tee was its weight. It felt substantial in the hand but did not hang heavily once worn. The cotton-blend fabric had a dry, slightly firm feel rather than the soft, floppy texture of an old cotton shirt.
