ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- The day started with unwelcome news for UND. The team’s leading scorer and Hobey Baker Award candidate Jordan Kawaguchi was forced to miss Saturday’s series finale against St. Cloud State because of an undisclosed injury. It’s not believed to be serious -- Kawaguchi is expected back next week -- but it was enough to take the nation’s second-leading scorer out of UND’s lineup.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – North Dakota steamrolled to an impressive 8-0-1 mark in the month of November and had two standout individuals receive National Collegiate Hockey Conference monthly honors. Junior Jordan Kawaguchi was the league's Player of the Month while sophomore Adam Scheel was tabbed the Goalie of the Month. Both will now be eligible for HCA National Players of the Month accolades.

ST. PAUL, Minn.-- The National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) unveiled its 2019-20 preseason poll today in the lead-up to its annual media day function at the Xcel Center. North Dakota was slated to finish fourth in the prognostications predicted by the league's media. Two-time defending NCAA national champion Minnesota Duluth topped the polls with Denver and Western Michigan just ahead of UND.

Senior defenseman Colton Poolman will captain the club for the second straight season and will be joined in the leadership group by assistant captains senior forward Cole Smith, junior defenseman Matt Kiersted and junior forward Jordan Kawaguchi. The captains are voted upon by the team.
