The newest NHL franchise, the Seattle Kraken, is poised to be a key rival for the Vancouver Canucks for years to come. There’s just one problem right now: they don’t have any players.
That issue will be resolved next week in the expansion draft on July 21, where the Kraken will be able to select one player from every other NHL team — excluding the Vegas Golden Knights, who just joined the league four years ago. The Golden Knights also won’t be getting a slice of the Kraken’s $650 million expansion fee.
