Jorge Hank with Grupo Caliente of Mexico has owned and run multiple businesses, as well as served in various public offices in Tijuana. Jorge Hank attended Alexander von Humboldt German College and studied Industrial Engineering at the Universidad Anáhuac in the State of Mexico. Mr. Hank founded Grupo Taos, a company that operates pet stores and amusement parks, in 1980, and still serves as the President of the Board and General Director. He now owns and operates Mexico's largest sports betting company, Grupo Caliente, which he started after moving to Tijuana in 1985. His company includes a dog racing track, a hotel, a mall and entertainment centers in 19 states across Mexico, as well as locations in Central America, South America and Europe. Jorge Hank Rhon became the mayor of Tijuana in 2004 and ran for governor in the 2007 Baja California state election.
