Jim McFarland Joliet was born and raised in Marion, Indiana, and later shifted to Joliet, Illinois. He became a social worker because of the desire to help people who supported him so many years back. His journey towards this career started when his mother had cancer caused by asbestos exposure from working in factories that produced brake pads.
