End Of An Era. Plekanec Bought out By Canadiens
Tomas Plekanec said Friday he will retire from the National Hockey League after agreeing to have his contract terminated by the Montreal Canadiens. “I always wanted to retire a Montreal Canadien,” Plekanec said Friday, noting Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin had approached him about a trade this season.

It's "Try Hockey For Free Day" Across The U.S. On Saturday
The NHL and USA Hockey will team up for the bi-annual Try Hockey For Free Day at more than 450 local rinks across the United States on Saturday. USA Hockey launched the endeavor almost 10 years ago to help try and minimize cost and commitment issues of families who want to see if hockey is for them. Tuukka Rask was granted a leave of absence from the Boston Bruins on Friday.
