The Vancouver Canucks' second scrimmage of their training camp was a lot more spirited than the first. It seems clear that everyone on the team is well aware that the season starts in just a few days and the battles were a little more fierce. The game itself ended 1-1 in regulation, as goaltenders Thatcher Demko and Braden Holtby were also a little more locked-in.
The spirited affair got a little too spirited at one point, as two teammates dropped the gloves and did a little knuckle-chucking in the third period.

The Vancouver Canucks have a cohort of players going through quarantine.
Others were already in town, either because they live here or because they wanted to get through their required quarantine — be it the government-required 14 days for international travellers or a shorter league-mandated period for players arriving from elsewhere in Canada — sooner rather than later.

Hockey fans will be getting a present on Christmas: the start of the 2021 World Junior Championship. At least, that’s the plan.
While the International Ice Hockey Federation has cancelled every other tournament on their schedule this winter, the World Juniors will still take place. Similar to the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the tournament will be played in a quarantined bubble in Edmonton.
All of the teams from the ten countries participating in the tournament have arrived in Edmonton and underwent testing for COVID-19. Ten of the tests came back positive: eight players from Team Germany and two staff members from Team Sweden.
