Oilers’ McDavid ‘feeling good,’ will travel with team on road trip

Great sight for Oilers and fans, as Connor McDavid is back on the ice testing out his injured quad with the team's main group at practice, still no timeline for his return though.

There could be good news on the horizon for the Edmonton Oilers.

Star centre Connor McDavid is “feeling good” in his recovery from a quad injury and will travel with the team on their upcoming three-game road trip — which kicks off Sunday and ends next Wednesday — with stops in Los Angeles, Anaheim and Vegas, general manager Ken Holland told reporters Thursday.

The 23-year-old joined the Oilers for practice Thursday after skating on his own in the morning.

The Oilers announced last week that McDavid was expected to be sidelined two to three weeks with the injury. He was hurt during the team’s 3-2 win over the Nashville Predators on Feb. 8.

McDavid remains fourth in NHL scoring, 14 points back of league-leader and teammate Leon Draisaitl, with 81 points.
