The Swift Current Broncos and Humbolt Broncos will be releasing a matching third jersey in conjunction to honour the victims that passed away in two separate bus crashes.

Taylor Vause, a graphics designer and alumnus of Swift Current currently playing professional hockey in Austria, designed the jerseys.

Back in 1986, four players on the WHL Broncos team passed away after the team bus hit a patch of black ice and crashed on the TransCanada Highway on route to Regina. Hockey Hall of Famer Joe Sakic survived the crash.

In April of 2018, 16 people affiliated with the Humboldt organization perished after a semi-trailer collided with the team bus near Armley, Saskatchewan at a stop sign.

Both teams will wear the #BroncosStrong jerseys on Friday, November 2nd in their respective games. Swift Current will auction the jerseys off with proceeds benefitting the STARS Air Ambulance, while Humboldt will wear them as a third jersey throughout the season. The only difference between the SJHL and WHL patches on the upper right side of the chest.
