About Anzac Recreation Centre

Anzac, located on the western shore of Willow Lake in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, is a hamlet of approximately 800 people with potential for rapid growth due to developments in the region. The Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC, opened to the community on March 3, 2014. Developed and built by the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, the 112,000 square-foot Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC, includes the Centerfire Fitness Centre, the Christina River Enterprises Indoor Running Track, ConocoPhillips Youth Room, an NHL-sized arena, field house, boardroom and meeting spaces, indoor playground and other amenities. The facility was built to meet the growth of the community, which is projected to grow to 6,000-8,000 residents by 2030. The Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC brings excellence in sport, recreation and event experiences to Anzac under the innovative leadership of the ONE Team of the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo. The Anzac Recreation Centre presented by CNOOC was one of the host venues for the 2015 Canadian Ringette Championships and the 2018 Alberta Winter Games.
