The Chicago Blackhawks have added veteran coach Marc Crawford to Jeremy Colliton’s staff for the 2019-20 season.

Crawford, who most recently served as interim head coach with the Ottawa Senators, is joining his son in Chicago. Dylan Crawford is an assistant video coach with the team.

“Jeremy has an extremely bright and innovative mind and I am totally impressed by his presence and enthusiasm,” Crawford said in a press release. “I know we will have a terrific relationship and my experience should benefit the entire coaching staff.”

Crawford has 18 seasons of NHL coaching experience including 1,169 games as a head coach. He won the Stanley Cup in 1996 as head coach of the Colorado Avalanche and also has had head coaching stints with the Los Angeles Kings and Dallas Stars.

He won the Jack Adams Award in 1995 — his first season as an NHL coach — while with the Quebec Nordiques.

Former Toronto Maple Leafs assistant coach D.J. Smith was named head coach of the Senators last month.
